Assignment #9 - My myth
At this ancient point in time, the world was divided into the followers of Horus, and the followers of Seth. This was the division between good and evil, and, naturally, both sides hated each other. In the 363rd year of Ra's reign, the people of Nubia are tricked into killing each other and their leader, Seth. Much blood is shed, it is brother against brother and the worst characteristics of humanity are brought to the forefront. The gods were angry because the humans were not maintaining Ma'at or balance. So they send down Hathor, in Sekhmet form, to kill the humans to stop their fighting. I suppose they thought that fighting violence with violence was a good idea. Sekhmet comes down and slaughters every single human that she comes across. The world runs red with blood and Ra orders her to stop the killing. However, Sekhmet is in a blood lust and will not listen. So the gods dye beer to look like blood and she drinks it, becomes drunk, and humanity is saved. After witnessing the horrors of this, Ra decides that he no longer wishes to remain on earth because the world had been changed. The goddess Nun of the primeval waters orders me and my father, Shu, to take Ra up into the heavens where he can reside in relative peace. I can not exactly say no because Nun is extremely powerful. Ra transforms into his blinding sun form, and I transform into my awe-inspiring cow form to carry him on my horns. I gallop - well, I was a cow so I attempted to gallop- into the sky. As Ra, the sun, leaves, obviously the world gets darker and everyone knows that humans have a natural fear of the dark. As the world darkens, most of the humans beg for Ra to come back. Of course, Ra is a god and he rarely bothers to listen to those lesser than him, so I continue to carry him up. In a last ditch attempt to regain his favor, the humans kill all of his enemies on earth.(This is essentially the reason why he left, so I think that it was kind of stupid for the humans to do that) And this is how death came into being. From that point on, living and then dying became necessary to maintain Ma'at. So I carry Ra high up into the heavens and once we get high enough, he transforms into many heavenly bodies which really increases the amount of weight on me. I transform back into a woman, and my entire body starts to shake from the effort of holding Ra up. Finally, eight other gods are created to help support me. Unfortunately, now I am stuck up there because if I return to earth, Ra will fall. My body now shelters the world from the chaos beyond. And Ra travels through me each night. I give birth to him every day, he travels along my stomach and I swallow him at night to continue the cycle. If this cycle ceased to exist, it could mean the end of the world.

Assignment #8- Resolution
After the climax of my story (see post number seven), Ra has spread out into all these heavenly bodies. I felt very alone then, because I was isolated from everyone. I changed back into my human form because frankly, being a cow is not great for your dignity. Although Ra had changed and it did not seem like he was still on my back, I could still feel his weight only it was magnified a hundred times because he himself was larger. It became difficult to hold him up and my muscles were straining. So, to help me, because Ra knew that I would be in this position for a long time, my father was recruited and the eight Heh gods were created to help support me. Ra then started the cycle where he traveled along my stomach during the day and I swallowed him at night. This was the resolution of my story.
Assignment #7- The Climax
The climax of my story is the instant when I finally reach the heavens with Ra on my back and he transforms into many heavenly bodies. At this same time he creates the fields of paradise for the dead. This split second is the high point of my entire story. The climax fades when I realize that my journey is at its end, and my limbs begin to tremble because I lack sufficient strength to hold up Ra. Other gods are then created to support me.

Conflict - Assignment #6
I was not exactly crazy about carrying Ra into the sky. However, the god of primeval waters, Nun, ordered me too which frustrated me, after all, I did not want to leave Geb. Also, when I was carrying Ra up into the sky, some of the humans on earth did not want him to leave. They desperately begged him to stay, and, when he continued to leave, they shot and killed his enemies. This is what brought death into being and from then on, humans had to live and then die to maintain the earth's balance.

Assignment #5 - Character Development
In my story, the humans followed either Horus or Seth. The followers of Horus were good, the followers of Seth bad. The goddess Hathor/Sekhmet is also present. Her personality there was vicious, intent on violence and destruction. She murdered all of the followers of Seth and supposedly waded in their blood. As she did this, she took the form of a cow.
Ra is also present in this myth. He takes the form of a sun, bright and blinding. He is weary of the destruction on earth yet he does not want mankind to die out because he helps to stop Hathors rampage. Afterwards, he needs my help to travel to the sky.

Assignment #4 - Setting
The setting in one of my personal stories starts on the war-torn land, earth. Egyptian people have turned against one another and are killing their friends. The land ran red with the blood of innocents that day, and mens souls turned black with corruption. The clash of spears and screams of men could be heard miles around. The stench of death and rotting flesh filled the air with its sickly sweet, cloying fumes. The earth wept that day, crying tears of blood, its wails voiced through the throats of dying men. Pain was felt by all, even those who hid from the suffering. The world remained forever changed from that day forth.
Later, my story moves to the highest regions of the sky. So high up, in fact, that the earth looked as though it was merely a speck in the midst of all existence. The stars gleamed with inner fire and the heavens shown with deep blue iridescence. The sheer size of the universe amazed me. All was calm, the cares of the world fell away. Smell, taste, and sound ceased to exist, and I felt weightless as though I was flying. But the earth still pulled. My core was inexorably bound to it. And this is where my story ends.
